Patent Applications
As with anything new, innovative ideas are bound to materialise. Careful thought is then required as to whether or not it would be a good idea to protect these ideas with a patent application. This is quite a costly and time consuming process but will offer protection from the filing date onwards – unless it is found to already be “in the public domain”. A search will normally find out how valid the application may be. For filing only, one needs to cover as many aspects of the invention as possible including any possible derivatives of that invention later. We believe in secrecy with any project and advise clients similarly.
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
Brittain Consulting can offer IPR assistance from searches to filing through qualified European Patent and Trademark Attorneys.
If we design, invent or make something, it has to be somebody’s property. To avoid any misunderstanding, the intellectual property, which encompasses all design & innovation, patent rights and so on, will be part of an agreement between Brittain Consulting and their client prior to the commencement of that project.
